SUMMER ART CAMP 2009

  

Explore famous artists! Express Yourself & Learn New Art Skills! Classes are geared for all ages and are adapted for each level of ability. My philosophy is that every child is an artist. My role is to nurture and help draw out their creative talent. By learning new technical and creative skills, we will have a meaningful art experience! Please scroll down for class details and registration information! This summer is sure to be fantastic! I look forward to sharing wonderful creative moments with you this summer!

June 1-5 Spa Girl:  Pamper your inner princess! Create soaps, scrubs; lotions lip gloss, a fancy makeup mirror and other girl only things!   FULL

June 8-12 Totally Psychedelic!: Peace…love…art! Get groovy and tie dye, make peace themed jewelry, create psychedelic paintings, and discover great artists from days gone by. FULL

June 15-19 Art School of Magic and Wizardry: Calling all wizards and fairies! Enter the world of magic and art! Create Harry Potter potions and broomsticks, dragon inspired art, along with other enchanted artifacts!

June 22-26 Time Traveler: Travel back in time and create art inspired by prehistoric and ancient people. Move forward through time to the Renaissance and beyond! Complete the week with a nod to “futuristic” art. What does the future hold in store for us artistically?

June 29-July 3 Art Camp Day by Day: Enroll in one day, two or all! whatever suits your fancy. Each day is a unique one of a kind artistic exploration!

Monday June 29: Mini Monday: paint on mini canvases, create miniature works of art!

Tuesday, June 30: Art Cars!: Houston IS the art car capitol of the world! Take a look at amazing art cars and then make your own mini version! Imagination gone wild!

Wednesday, July 1: Edible Art: marzipan creatures and bread animals are a couple of the edible art projects for the day!

Thursday, July 2: Kids Rock!: Design guitar pick jewelry, a cool designed guitar, and a bowl fashioned from an old record album!

Friday, July 3: Red White and Blue: Celebrate America’s Birthday the artistic way!

July 6-10 Room Makeover! :Everything wonderful for your own space! Design your own bulletin board, wall décor, mirror, desk set, waste basket and more…just for your room!  JUST A FEW SPACES REMAINING!

 July 13-17 Color My World: It’s all about color! Mix secondary, primary, tertiary and analogous colors. Make your own unique color wheel, experiment with tints and shades. Apply your new knowledge of color while painting in the style of such color mavericks, Jackson Pollock and Henri Matisse! JUST A FEW SPACES REMAINING!

 

July 20-24 Truly Tropical: Exotic toucans and parrots, the rainforest, and dynamic oceans alive are the inspiration this week. Sand casting, beach landscapes, and fish prints are just some of the tantalizing tropical treats we’ll discover together. JUST A FEW SPACES REMAINING!

July 27-31 Book Maker: Calling all book lovers! Design and illustrate your own book, create a graphic novel, flip book, cartoon book, altered book and journal. Quill and sculpey art pens are also some of the fun book crafts we’ll make together.

Marla’s Art Studio FaQs:

-Class size is limited to 12 students maximum and 6 students minimum.

-Classes are designed for grades K-6, and are adapted to meet the needs of all artistic levels. 

-Classes are $175 per week. Room Makeover has a $25 supply fee.

-June 29-July 3 Art Camp Day by Day is $40 per day.

-A light snack is provided. Please feel free to send a snack if your child has special dietary needs.

-Bonus Discount! Sign up for 3 or more classes and take of $25 from the total fee.

-All classes are from 9:30-12, Monday through Friday.

-You can sign up via snail mail, e-mail or phone.

-If you need to cancel for any reason, a class credit will be issued if you notify me 2 weeks prior to camp.

 



REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

You can:

1. Print out enrollment form and mail along with your payment.

2. You may e-mail your registration form, and then send payment separately. 

3. If you are on my snail mail address, you will receive a flier in the mail, and you can mail that in.

4. If you are NOT on my snail mail list, please contact me, and I will make sure you receive the hard copy of the enrollment info.
