SUMMER ART CAMP 2008

  

Explore famous artists! Express Yourself & Learn New Art Skills! Classes are geared for all ages and are adapted for each level of ability. My philosophy is that every child is an artist. My role is to nurture and help draw out their creative talent. By learning new technical and creative skills, we will have a meaningful art experience! Please scroll down for class details and registration information! This summer is sure to be fantastic! We have some new classes, and some old favorites! I look forward to sharing wonderful creative moments with you this summer!  

NEW LATE ADDITION:

June 2-6: HOGWARTS ARTS ACADEMY: afternoon class! 2:00-4:30

           Enter the magical world of Harry Potter and create wizardly wonderful works of art surely fit for any sorcerer in training! We'll create our own Quidditch balls, Spell Books, Chocolate Frogs, Potions, Sorting Hats and much more.      

June 2-6: BE JEWELED!: 

It's a bead fest! We'll create one of a kind jewelry all week long, while learning new skills and techniques. Plus we'll make our own beads out of a variety of materials. This class is sure to capture the sparkle in every artist's eye.

June 9-13: ROOM MAKEOVER:

While not exactly HGTV, we'll spend the week making amazing art inspired goodies for our bedroom! Corkboards, photo frames, funky pillows and more!

June 16-20: POP ART PIZZAZZ:

Andy Warhol and Claus Oldenburg will be our inspiration this week as bring Pop Art to life. We'll create jumbo size paper mache pop art objects and unique soft sculptures too!

June 23-27: DREAMIN OF DAVINCI:

Who was Leonardo Da Vinci? Why is the Mona Lisa so famous? Who was she? What made Da Vinci a "Renaissance Man"? This and more is what we'll discover together as we spend a week learning about Leonardo Da Vinci and creating art inspired by this master.

June 30-July 3: PROJECT RUNWAY: (no class July 4th)

Calling all fashion designers! Everyone is "in" in this fun class for those interested in fashion design. We'll create our own fashion designs on paper and then use fabric and collage objects to embellish our designs. By the end of the week we'll have a whole collection ready!

July 7-11: CRAZY FOR CARTOONS:

From Walt Disney to Anime with a little Peanuts thrown in too, we'll spend this week diving into the world of cartoons, anime, manga and animation. Not only will we create our own comic strip and comic book, but we'll also create an animated video short using the "stop motion animation" technique!

July 28-August 1: PRIMARILY PICASSO:

What makes a Picasso a Picasso? We'll explore many aspects of Picasso including African Art's influence on his work, cubism, the blue and rose period, collage, and more. We'll also paint a ceramic plate, as we learn how Picasso loved to adorn clay works of art with his images.

August 4-15: CLAYWORKS:

In this two week class, our hands will immersed in clay as we mold fabulous hand built and wheel thrown ceramic works of art. Students will develop pinch and slab techniques, as well as work on the potters wheel.  All work will be fired and glazed!

FAQS YOU NEED TO KNOW

-Classes are designed for grades K-6, and are adapted to meet the needs of all artistic levels. 

-Classes are $165 per week. Room Makeover has a $25 supply fee.

Project Runway is only 4 days, and is prorated to be $133. Clayworks is $330 for 2 weeks.

-Please note that Clayworx is a 2 week class!

-A light snack is provided. Please feel free to send a snack if your child has special dietary needs.

-Bonus Discount! Sign up for 3 or more classes and take of $25 from the total fee.


REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

You can:

1. Print out enrollment form and mail along with your payment.

2. You may e-mail your registration form, and then send payment separately. 

3. If you are on my snail mail address, you will receive a flier in the mail, and you can mail that in.

4. If you are NOT on my snail mail list, please contact me, and I will make sure you receive the hard copy of the enrollment info.

5. New this year-pay with your credit card if so desired!
