SUMMER 2008!
draw...paint...explore...discover...express!
I am really excited about my classes this summer! I hope you will agree that it's the best ever!

Wow! What a summer so far! It's been amazing, great kid, wonderful art, lots of creativity. I will be on vacation till the 28th of July, resting up for the rest of what I know will be a wonderful summer. There are a couple of spaces left in Clayworks, so let me know asap if you are interested!

July 28-August 1: PRIMARILY PICASSO: 9:30-12

What makes a Picasso a Picasso? We'll explore many aspects of Picasso including African art's influence on his work, cubism, the blue and rose period, collage and more. We'll also paint a ceramic plate, as we learn how Picasso loved to adorn clay works of art with his images.

August 4-15: CLAYWORKS: 9:30-12

In this two week class, our hands will be immersed in clay as we mold fabulous hand built and wheel thrown ceramic works of art. Students will develop pinch and slab techniques, as well as work on the potters wheel.  All work will be fired and glazed!

Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.

-Pablo Picasso

There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted.

-Henri Matisse

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it.

-Danny Kaye

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.

  - Georgia O'Keeffe
