SUMMER ART CAMP 2012

Explore famous artists! Express Yourself & Learn New Art Skills!

Classes are geared for all ages and are adapted for each level of ability. My philosophy is that every child is an artist. My role is to nurture and help draw out their creative talent. By learning new technical and creative skills, we will have a meaningful art experience!

June 4-8: the Art of Clay: Create works of art in clay, both natural and air dried. Glaze and paint your works of clay!

June 11-15: Bird is the Word: Clay birds, painted birds, felt birds and Owls! We will be celebrating the image of the bird in many creative ways this week!

June 18-22: Fiber Arts: Think colorful yarns and soft fibers…. Batik, Weaving, and macramé friendship bracelets are some of the fiber arts we will be experimenting with for Fiber Arts!

June 25-29: Peace Love and Art! Let the Sun Shine! Embrace your inner hippy child this week with tie-dye, batik and other green crafts and activities!

July 9-13: One Day Wonders: Join me for one or all days in this fun filled week with something for just about everyone!

Wednesday, July 11: Oceans Alive-Oceans come alive today as we create works of art inspired by the oceans and creatures of the Earth.

July 16-20: Crafty Chics: It’s a “girls only” week, as we made arts and crafts special for the sparkly chic in us all!  Headbands, duct tape, glam for our room, and so much more!

July 23-27: Artsy Chefs: We’ll take a look at the artistic side of the kitchen! Hand crafted aprons, cake stands, edible art, beaded servers and plenty more will round out our week of being an artsy chef!

Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.

-Pablo Picasso

There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted.

-Henri Matisse

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it.
